I find it challenging to balance the game’s mechanics, especially when dealing with complex interactions between different elements. However, I’m determined to make the game more enjoyable and fair for all players.
I spent a week play testing and analyzing the game’s mechanics. I made several changes to the game’s balance, including adjusting the difficulty levels and tweaking the game’s mechanics. I also made sure to test the game thoroughly to ensure that the changes I made did not introduce any new bugs or issues.
I also did most of this on a live stream at twitch.tv/compiledev where I shared my progress and received feedback from the chatroom along with some really good suggestions on gameplay improvements.

After the rebalance the game feels more sensibly paced without slowing down progress. This also led to the boss rewards needing a reduction to values that provided a boost without overpowering the player.
The good news is the rework of the UI to a toolbar is feeling much more natural and providing a more dashboard like experience.
The hacker weekly conference game is complete at this stage and offers something different once a week for the player to do and get a 1.2x multiplier for resources when you win.
